About Gareth

Gareth was born in Warwickshire in the winter of 1989. He began writing novels at the age of fifteen whilst he was still at secondary school. He and a friend would write scenes for each other to critique in dreaded green annotations, leading to rewrites and further attempts to appease the critic. By the time he was eighteen he had written an entire YA novel, however, at this point in his life he discovered a newfound love for darker, grittier fantasy and began rewriting the entire novel for an older audience, ever under the critical cuff of the green annotations.

After completing the novel, he realised that it would never be released as the target audience had been lost along the way, but using that as practise, in 2010, one year into his undergraduate degree, he began writing a new novel White Fangs.

By summer 2012, he had graduated from the University of Leicester with a degree in physics, and the novel was 90% complete. There it remained, sunk deep into the hard drive, buried beneath layers of self-doubt, for eight years, during which time he began teaching maths in a secondary school, and met, and then married, his wife.  With her supportive influence, he would take up the mantle of Author again and this time complete what he had set out to do eight years earlier. In late 2022, White Fangs  was published.
